| A Civic Address is necessary for: |

| The Civic Addressing Coordinator assigns new civic numbers for the Municipality and the information is sent to the Provincial Civic Addressing Coordinator for inclusion in the Enhanced 911 Emergency Service for the Province. |
| Civic numbers are assigned when the building permit is issued. They are assigned to buildings having permanent or temporary use but are not assigned to buildings that are considered accessory to the main building and they are not assigned to vacant land. |
| Civic Numbers are required to be posted using the white numerals on a blue reflective background. |

Private Road signs are essential in 911 Emergency response and need to be posted. Posting of private road signs is the responsibility of the property owners. Please make sure your private road sign is posted so that you can be found during an emergency. |
